Stevie – God, I miss him.
Great segment at the beginning where Stevie contrasts Freddy King’s version of Hideaway with Clapton’s. A good lesson for all of us in how much difference a choice of neck position can affect the final sound.

This video is for intermediate to advanced players because Michael does not instruct step-by-step. You will need to do a little “reverse engineering” to reapeat this at home. But it’s worth it. Watch the video below… the sound is sooo sweet!

We all tend to learn scales in positions on the guitar. But when playing leads, we want to get out of those constraining positional “boxes” and be able to effortlessly traverse the entire length of the finger board.
Shread Academy instructor Joe Cefalu demonstrates a very cool exercise for seamlessly connecting minor pentatonic positions on the fretboard. You should be pretty familiar with the minor pentatonic scale in all positions before using this video.
